Chinggis Khaan’s Monument at Tsonjin Boldog

Chinggis Khaan’s Monument at Tsonjin  Boldog
Chinggis Khaan still looms largest in the minds of Mongolians, who adore
the great warrior-emperor and founder of the Mongol Nation, but he looms
second largest on Tsonjin Boldog Hill, about 25 miles east of Ulaanbaatar (in
the direction of Terelj), where a massive metal statue of the conqueror has
been erected. Seated on a horse atop a visitor’s center, the monument stands
about 40 meters tall all-told. A visitor can pay 10,000 togrogs to climb to
the top of the khaan’s horse and get a view of the surrounding hillside
